'Across the bridge noodles' (Guo qiao mi xian) Is a Yunnan original dish, but perfect for Changchun's winter. Around  ¥15 will get you a hearty Chicken Noodle soup which is recommended for those mid-winter flus and colds.

This shop is located on Lixin Jie and Xikang Hutong, and another branch is on Lixin Lu near Longli Hutong.

For Doctor Who fans, this is as close to a TARDIS as you will ever experience. Small on the outside, you walk in to a large, crowded restaurant with two floors.

There is no English menu, but there are plenty of photographs of the food to point at.

Quick, delicious and cheap at ¥6 a bowl. Just walk in, choose what vegetables you want with your noodles, wait a few minutes and you have your noodles

Outdoor restaurants in the city are rare and the number of days to eat out are few. So when you find an inner city - outer eating place, you accept it pros and cons. Welcome to a new concept in eating - BBQ and carpark. Some people may not appreciate having to move their table while a car backs out, but after a few beers, you get used to it.

Location: In an alley between Guilin Hutong and Xikang Lu and Lixin Jie and Baihui Jie

This is a nice outdoor BBQ on Mudan Jie near Guilin Lu. You can order baked potatoes, but you need to bring your own butter.

This little street has potential. Discovered as CCL's intrepid explorers made there way to Wanda.

Could be a nice place for outdoor summer eating...anyone want to try?

This small restaurant is really really fast. I ordered some take away, sat down, stretched my legs and yawned. Then my food came. Maybe not the most delicious food (I did like my disanqian eggplant), but If you just want quick and easy, this is your place.
